Complaints procedure

Should you be dissatisfied with the service of a member of the Police Force, you are able to file a complaint to the Chief of Police. For all other requests such as; police reports, traffic reports, general reports, you can fill in the contact form on the contact page.

The following complaint form was designed for your convenience when you are:

  • Not satisfied about the way you have been treated by a police officer
  • Of the opinion that a police officer did not render proper service
  • Of the opinion that your case has not been handled in the right manner
  • Of the opinion that you were not well-informed about your case, request or report.

The online Complaint Form is available in Dutch, English and French. The paper form is also available at the police headquarters in Philipsburg upon request.

What happens when you have filed a complaint?

The Chief of Police will asses the complaint and based on the type, will determine how and by whom it will be handled. KPSM strives to process a citizen’s complaint within the legal stipulated term (4-6 weeks).
