The Central Dispatch Unit is a combined effort between the Police Department and the Ambulance Department. They are responsible for answering emergency calls, translating them, prioritizing them and dispatching them. Based on the Dutch-French Police treaty the Central Dispatch Unit works in close collaboration with the Central Dispatch of the French Gendarmerie.

For all emergencies call 911. For all other calls dial the general number 542-2222, option 0 from the menu for operator assistance. 

Camera Surveillance Center

The Camera Surveillance Center which was long awaited on Sint Maarten is operational since February 1st 2019. The Camera Surveillance Center is managed by the Emergency Dispatch Center under the responsibility of KPSM.

Camera Surveillance has been implemented on Sint Maarten due to the very active and growing economy and growing population. This purpose of this of type of surveillance is for the maintenance of public order and safety within the community. It is required by law that the community be informed when they are in an area which is monitored by the Camera Surveillance Center.
